To commemorate World Environment Day that falls on June 5, various activities including a tree planting exercise were conducted in the week beginning June 5, 2017 at the Zambian Breweries PLC plant along Mungwi Road. As part of the week’s celebrations, employees were challenged to suggest creative ideas on how resources such as water, one of earth’s most important resource – can be sustainably utilized and even conserved.
This led to the development of two awards, namely, ‘Best Water Usage Practices’, and ‘Best Efforts around World Environment Day’. For his unique ideas on how best the company can conserve water, Kacha Mapulanga, Maintenance Planner from the Ndola plant won Best Water Usage Practices while Jacob and his team of six won the ‘Best Efforts around World Environment Day’ award for organizing an awareness program at the Saxon stores

To wrap up the week’s activities, an internal Manja Pamodzi activation was held at the car park right in front of the pub at Zambian Breweries PLC plant which saw additional prize giveaways to active audience participants.
