Who We Are
Manja Pamodzi is a recycling initiative supported by Zambian Breweries PLC and the Millennium Challenge Account. The project aims to financially empower women and create more jobs through collecting and recycling of uncollected waste. Above all, our objective is to attain clean, and healthy cities in Zambia.
Through our eco-friendly team, we carry out cleanup programs called District Cleanups in various townships and neighborhoods. In one of such programs, conducted in Kalikiliki Compound in November 2016, more than 400 people turned up and 118 signed up for the project as collectors right on-spot!

In partnership with Lusaka Water Security Initiative (LuWSI) among other co-operating organizations, we conduct school workshops that educate primary school pupils on water security, solid waste management as well sanitation and hygiene.
The workshops, conducted every school term, sensitize the pupils on the effects of improper waste disposal and the health hazard it creates.

Together with the Lusaka City Council, Ministries of Local Government and Water Development, Sanitation & Environmental Protection, Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA), we extend an invitation to other government institutions, civil societies, as well as private sector institutions to “put hands together” and join us in this life-changing programme as partners. In the two years of our existence, we have collected over 2, 500 tonnes of recyclable material and empowered 407 people in various townships of Lusaka.
With additional support, the project will potentially empower more lives and reduce post-consumer waste that gathers in drainages and makes our cities dirty.
